Aunt Meg & Ryan birthday's - family times
Well what a weekend it was! First I want to say that it was awesome to see so many of my nieces and nephews! And of course Grandma & Grandpa, Meg, Mark and Scott!
I will back track a little - Amy & Alyssa spent the week with Grandma and Grandpa. Ryan, Uncle Ken and I were able to see Uncle Mark & Aunt Lee off last Sat and they left Amy & Alyssa with Grandma & Grandpa. I know they went to Navy Pier , rode the boat, went to see the frogs at one of the museums, went to some movies and had a boring day shopping as Amy put it. Amy said Grandpa slept through one of the movies! My personal favorite time was when Amy, Alyssa, Grandma, Sarah and I all got our nails done. Amy picked a bright purple with glitter and Alyssa picked orange. Both very classy!
Friday night we celebrated Ryan's 21st birthday! Can't believe it! We went to Joes Crab Shack in Schaumburg and then had everyone back here for cake and presents! We got to see Grandma, Grandpa, Tara, Chris, Kairi, Dusty, Lisa, Amy, Alyssa, Matt, Bethany, Sarah and Uncle Ken and me. I actually was able to surprise Ryan with some gift! My favorite a Cubs license plate frame! And a poster that says "You can't be positive if you are negative"!
John had a surprise party for Aunt Meg on Saturday at Antioch - what fun. There were a lot of people I didn't know so I assumed they were Aunt Meg's friends and I know John's family was there too. John got Aunt Meg a piano - what's up with that? It will be interesting to see how they get it up the stairs (there are about 30 steep stairs) and thru the tiny door frame! Can you believe Aunt Meg is 50! The weather was beautifulul! Ian came - I really enjoyed talking to him and he is beginning to look like a Marine if is possible to look like a marine! Tara, Chris and Kairi were there. I had so much fun watching Kairi and Amy play in the water! Uncle Mark, Aunt Lee made it to Aunt Meg's for the party and to meet up with Amy & Alyssa. Dusty and Lisa were there too.
Uncle Scott, Aunt Neen, Talia, Chris, Lexi & Allie made it to Grandma's late Sat night.
Sunday we all went to the Cubs game. Yea the Cubs WON! It was a great game. I sat next to Tara and Kairi - what fun! Let's see if I can get everyone - there were 27 of us! Me, Uncle Ken, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Scott, Aunt Neen, Tara, Chris, Kairi, Talia, Chris, Lexi, Ally, Zach, Erin Uncle Mark, Aunt Lee, Dusty, Lisa, Amy, Alyssa, Ryan, Nicole, Sarah, Katie, Good friends of ours Pat & Cori. After the game, we all went to Barnabas - A cubs game tradition!
MIA - Matt & Bethany had a family reunion on Bethany's side and Justin is starting a new job.
Now for some random memories of the last few days. Seeing Dusty pose for a picture or actually his butt posing! Watching 2 very tired babies (Kairi & Lexi) sleep on the bus home from the Cubs game. Seeing Aunt Meg cry tears of joy when her friends sang Happy birthday to her with her new piano. Seeing Amy & Kairi throw the "Dirt" as they called it at the beach in Antioch and watching them play in the water for well over 2 hours. Watching Bethany laugh when Ryan opened her and Matt's gifts - now who enjoyed it more? Watching with pride my nieces (Tara & Talia) being a mom. Talking with Ian. Missing Rebecca who tried real hard to make it to her Mom's party. Watching Grandpa color with Kairi at Joes Crab Shack. Seeing the pride in Grandma's eyes as she watched her entire family. Seeing how grown up Alyssa is. Watching how special Erin is to her nieces. Hearing that Zach slept the whole way up to Chicago. Seeing how excited Matt is to go back to teaching. Seeing Allie.

Hi all,
It is great to read about everyone, it reminds me that I can keep up with everyone even though you are far away. I really wish I could have been there this weekend to see so many of you! Markus and I had an interesting weekend signing the blue prints for our house and trying to choose a color for our house (who knew that would be so difficult?...you have to match colors and how it blends with the style of the house...it is crazy). I hope the next decisions will be easier. I also finally got my birthday present. Markus took me an interactive murder mystery train (don't worry none of us were the victims), but our sleuthing skills were off since neither of us guessed the true killer. Oh yeah, there were some requests to hear about my mom's trip here. We spent a lot of time showing my mom (Sue-Sue) about what and where our house will be. Then we went to Sauder Village, which is a village set up like the late 1800's, where people show you how everything was done back then (in character and dress for the time) such as farming, cooking, broom making, pottery, you name it, they did it. My mom had a great time since everything reminded her of the descriptions my grandparents gave her about when they grew up! That was followed by a great concert at the zoo. The really nice thing was my mom cooking for us (awesome birthday present) while Markus and I were at work, we now have a fully stocked freezer WooHoo!!! Finally, to all those wondering, yes, Aunt Judy did give my mom lingerie for her birthday, but everyone denies that there is a boyfriend...but if you hear any rumors let me know, I would like to be in the loop :). Miss you all.
Love, Jill

Grandpa has a good story about Amy from this weekend. While they were staying at his house Amy did Grandpa's hair for him. To go with his new hair style she painted his nails.
