Grandpa Jim & Matt's birthday & pic's of Matt & Bethany's cruise

I am so excited that there are lots of responses which means you all are reading this! A few years ago I was trying to e-mail everyone but that for some reason got to hard. This is so much easier and everyone can read everything! As I just told Grandma, family IS the most important thing in the world.

Our friends will change, but our family will love us and stick by us FOREVER!!

Keep the comments coming - It has been so much fun to read how everyone is doing!

We celebrated Matt's birthday on Sat, July 22nd. He is 23 - can't believe that I could possibly have a son that old :) We went to Outback, his favorite place! Sarah made him choc cake, she said it looked like a 2 year old made it - but I thought it looked awesome! Everyone (except Ryan) ate it so it must have been okay! Grandpa had 2 pieces!

On Sunday we went to Antioch and Aunt Meg made dinner and 2 pies for Grandpa Jim's birthday! The place was hopping with lots of picnickers and boaters John was doing a lot of chasing! It was a beautiful day. We walked around, talked and just enjoyed the weather!

Grandpa Jim's bday is Tuesday, July 25th.
Aunt Sue-Sue was in Ohio visiting Jill & Markus most of the week. Jill's bday was Sunday, July 23rd. Maybe Jill or Markus can comment on what you all did with your mom visiting!

Hey did you check out the link that Markus sent - I just love the picture of him!!

Aunt Sue-Sue is back on her way back to Illinois for a few more days and then on her way back to Denver the end of the week.

Jill & Markus bought a house, are going to watch it be built and move in, in Feb - I may have the month wrong but I think it is around that time.

Uncle Mark, Lee, Amy and Alyssa will be in town this weekend (July 29th) Mark & Lee are then going to Michigan for the week (I may have the wrong state - all I remember is that is not Illinois). Grandma and Grandpa are going to show Amy & Alyssa a good time next week. I think Amy has it all planned - way to go for a 4 year old!

Up & comings
  • Dusty will be in town Around Aug 4th.
  • We will celebrate Ryan's birthday Aug 4th - it is really Aug 6th but we will all be at the Cubs game and Ryan wanted to be with his friends on Aug 5th - go figure - now really who's more important - me or his friends?!
  • Cubs game - Aug 6th - Uncle Mark's family, Uncle Scott's family, Grandma & Grandpa and some of my family
I will leave you with a few pic's from Matt & Bethany's cruise in Europe. They will have to comment as to what they are!

Much love to everyone -

Birthdays and Cubs game

What a wonderful weekend. We celebrated Jill and Aunt Sue-Sue's birthdays on Saturday, July 15th. We also went to the Cubs game on Friday, July 14th. The Cubs lost but it was a lot of fun.

Thanks to everyone who left comments on the last blog. Dusty, Erin, Shaleah and Dave Mills (Bethany's dad) all left comments. I believe all you have to do is click on the comment button and a comment screen comes up. Then you type what you want to say. So, it would be awesome if everyone could leave comments (nice comments about the Author - Deb (aka mom, Aunt Deb) would be awesome. Comments about what you are up to would also be good.

Dusty left some comments about himself but he forget to mention that he bought a new car! His dad, Mark (aka Uncle Mark) told me and wanted to make sure I mentioned it to all! I however forgot what kind of car. Speaking of cars, Erin has a new car, too - it's a Honda! That I remembered!

Steve (aka Uncle Steve) e-mailed me. He is still in New York and will be for another year. He may be coming to Grandma Judy and Grandpa Jim's, but of course I forgot when!

Meg (aka Aunt Meg) e-mailed me too but didn't yet leave a comment. I know she keeps busy up in Antioch with John running the boats and stuff!

Pictures are below for the birthdays and the cubs game. Thank you to Ryan for helping me get them on. His camera came in handy!

Upcoming birthdays......Matt - July 22nd, Grandpa Jim - July 25th, Lisa Mills - Aug 1st, Tara - Aug 2nd, Meg - Aug 4th and Ryan Aug 6th (he'll be 21!).

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!!

Love Deb (aka Mom, Aunt Deb)

Jill's Birthday at Grandma Judy & Grandpa Jim's house.
Jill will be 31 on July 21st. Markus was busy doing dishes when we sang Happy Birthday to Jill!

Aunt Sue-Sue's birtday at Grandma Judy and Grandpa Jim's house. Aunt Sue-Sue will be - oh wait - that wouldn't be nice. Aunt Sue-Sue's birthday was July 15th.

Aunt Sue-Sue, Grandma Judy, Grandpa Jim at the Cubs game on July 14th. Grandpa just has to be silly.

Matt, Ken(aka Dad, Uncle Ken), Aunt Sue-Sue at the Cubs game on July 14th. In case you're wondering the Cubs LOST.

Part of the Huber family. Scott, Teresa, Lindsey (friend of Danielle's) and Danielle. Danielle is leaving for college around Labor Day. She is going to Carroll College in Wisconsin. John Huber was at work (poor guy) actually I think he was entertaining a customer. Kyle was in Florida visiting his Grandparents.

Dave, Jan, Lisa Mills, Bethany and Matt. Lisa is Bethany's sister and is the same age as Ryan.
Matt married into such a nice family.
Matt sure is getting tan - working outside does that!

Ryan and Nicole. They sat behind me and shared their nacho's! We enjoyed having Nicole with us. She even let me buy her food!

Sarah and 2 of her friends - Katie and Amanda. Thank goodness Sarah didn't pick up any guys this time. However a guy tried to pick up Danielle and her friend. The same guy ran out on to the field towards the end of the game!

News to catch up on

My plan is to update this blog weekly! But first I want to catch everyone up on the news that I do have.
Matt & Bethany are settled in Crystal Lake and have an awesome apartment. Matt plans on teaching at the alternative school for another year. He loves the kids! Bethany has a job as a Chris Ed director at a Methodist church near Crystal Lake. They have settled into married life very nicely. They act so much older than their 23 years! Or maybe it's me that feels old :)
Ryan will be a senior at North Central in the fall. He is still thinking about going on to graduate school to get a doctorate in Economics....Dr Decker :) hmmm... Not sure where he'll end up but he will start applying in the fall. Ryan excels and always lands on his feet so I'm not worried.
Sarah will finish up at COD next year and is planning on finishing up her last 2 years at a 4 year college to get a degree in Elementary Ed. Not sure where she'll end up but keeping the faith that she'll find the perfect place for her. Now if she would stop picking up guys at Cubs games, I'd be happy ;)
Grandma Judy and Grandpa Jim are in South Dakota for a few days. They took Aunt Sue-Sue with them. They should be safely back in Schaumburg Wednesday (7/12) or Thursday (7/13).
We are all off to a Cubs game on Friday, July 14th. Bethany's parents and sister will be there as well as some friends. Now if the Cubs could win, I'd be happy. They have lost the last 2 times I have gone.....maybe I'm the jinx....no way - they have lost WAY TOO many games this year!
Jill & Markus will be in Schaumburg to celebrate Aunt Sue-Sue's bday on Sat 7/15/06. It will be a fun time! Will there be cake? I love cake!!
In the upcoming weeks....
We are going to our last Cubs game this year on August 6th and my brothers Mark & Scott will be there along with their families! Should be an awesome time.
Us Deckers are going on a family vacation in August to Ohio....to an amusement park - looking forward to it!
Please send me your comments and news ... Especially all my nieces and nephews. Maybe we can all keep updated on each other!
Love to everyone!
P.S. Thanks to Erin for reading the intro blog and making a comment.
