Ryan's engaged

Lots of news this week…

Ryan & Nicole are engaged! Ryan asked Nicole Friday night and she said yes! He went to pick her up and they were supposed to be going out for dinner with friends so Nicole was not expecting it! He waited until they got outside and then got down on one knee and asked her! Nicole’s mom and sister got to watch from the window! They did not go out with friends but went to a fancy restaurant in Schaumburg. They are thinking about May of 2009 so stay tuned for details……

Some sad news... Tara & Erin’s Grandpa Leatherman passed away on Feb 16th and I think the funeral was Fri, Feb 22nd. I think he had been sick for a while but never the less, it’s always sad.

Sarah and I picked up Grandma & Grandpa from their cruise tonight. They were gone a long time but they had a great time. Grandpa seemed happy and seems to be feeling better. Grandma had a fever for a few days but she said she is better now. They were able to go on all their shore trips except one. Aunt Sue-Sue’s flight was delayed so she had a long day in Florida trying to get home to Denver.

Matt & Bethany are looking for a home to buy.....Hopefully I’ll be able to send out good news soon!

I have 20 tickets for the following Cubs games – start thinking of which games you can go to and let Grandma or me know so that I can start asking friends if family can’t use them all. Say, May 31st at 12:05 and Sunday, July 13th at 1:20. I can’t wait for the season to start.

Sarah, her friend Katie, Erin and her friend and ME are going to see Kenny Chesney in June at Soldiers Field. They are letting me be the “fifth wheel” but I’m excited!

Feb 10th

Grandma, Grandpa & Aunt Sue-Sue made it to San Diego and are on the ship for their cruise. I know that Grandma & Grandpa's flight was delayed by about 3 hours so I'm not sure if they got to see Rebecca or not. Rebecca or Aunt Meg - do you know......

Grandpa is feeling a little better but is still walking slow. I'm hoping that the warm weather will help! This is a long cruise - 2 weeks - they won't be home until Feb 24th.

I heard the flu is going around Uncle Scott's house.

Anyone else have any news about their families???

Pitchers report to Spring Training this week! Anxious to start reading about them! Go Cubs!!

Feb 3rd

Wow, was that an awesome Super Bowl or what! I won my football pool at work for the 1st 2 quarters to a grand total of 250.00!

Speaking of football pools – Todd won the family College football pool. He won 22.00!

Grandpa Jim is not feeling very well and is in quite a bit of pain. It’s his hip or the Doctor says it’s his back. Anyways, he is on some pain med’s and hopefully will be shopping with Grandma Judy in a few days.

We are having quite a bit of snow. Ryan is my shoveling buddy, although Sarah helped a few times this weekend too.

I heard that Ian graduates from UIC on Mother’s day. Shaleah (from college) and Zach (from high school) also graduate in May.

I’m working on getting 2 group sales tickets for Cubs games. Sat, May 31st and Sun, July 13th. Check your calendars and I will let you all know if we get them. If I do, everyone will need to decide if they can get to both or one of the games!

With Football over now, Baseball can’t be too far away!
