Change
Ryan is safely back at North Central for his Senior year. He starts classes tomorrow and his room at school is all set up. He has an awesome room arrangement and is rooming with Jeff, his roommate from last year.
We all (including Matt & Bethany) kept our family tradition of gong to Red Robin in Naperville after we move the boy (s) in. This is the 3rd maybe 4th year we have been doing this. It was good to have ALL my kids together.
Sarah is settling into a routine of school and work. She will begin her Special Ed observing hours soon at the grade school that when to - that will be neat! She will be observing a 2nd grade class with an inclusion child that has Cerbly Palsy (SP?)
Matt has settled in with his teaching - it's aways so nice to see him so excited. Bethany's sunday school programs are going well and she is also very excited. It is so nice to see your kids happy about their jobs!
Family News
Rebecca made it to helicopters! I believe it's 6 weeks of training on all helicopters and then 6 more months of one helicopter. Then ...... I don't know. Rebecca care to elaborate?
Aunt Meg will be starting school this week to get a degree (not sure if that is right) or training for a position in the church. She is also working part time also in the church. Aunt Meg care to elaborate?
Tara is due ANY TIME. She will have a c-section on Thursday. Grandma & Grandpa will be in Rock Island Wed night thru Sunday to see the baby and help out. A girl or a boy..... Thursday will tell. I'm thinking boy but time will tell!
Keep checking the blog and I will let everyone know as soon as I know. Grandma promised to call me and let me know!
Dusty may be starting his program at Walmart soon. I guess they are anxious to get him started.
Grandma and Grandpa are going to see Uncle Steve in New York October 6th thru Oct 10th. I'm glad they are going.
I'm waiting to hear from Jill & Markus how the trip to Denver was.
Please e-mail me at dkmrs@aol.com if you want me to put any news in the blog or comment yourself directly on the blog. Erin explained how in the last blog entry.
Love to all...

Hey everyone, I can't believe school is starting up for everyone already, it seems as though summer lasted only a few days...but I'm glad everyone is excited. I actually came to share my good news and I guess it's not news anymore but I'm still really excited! I don't know if I'm more excited that I got helicopters, my first choice, or that I DIDN'T get P3's, my last choice. Anyways, Aunt Deb, you were close with the training process but it is at least 6 months just to learn to fly a helicopter. It is in an HT-57 and they call that advanced training. At the end of that I get my wings which means I can officially call myself an aviator, it's a pretty big deal, Brandon will get his wings hopefully in November (I'm catching up!). Then I will find out what type of helicopter I will fly as a career (almost definitely a version of the SH-60-similar to the Blackhawk)and what coast I will be on. I will have to do an additional 6-8 months to learn to fly my career helicopter (at a RAG/FRS)and then I will go to the coast that I was assigned to. They have RAGs on either coast and I'm hoping that I will be able to go to the RAG on the West coast (San Diego area) and also be assigned there afterwards. They do have some squadrons in Guam and Japan, so that's always a possibility too. But at the very least, I have another year of training and it will be in the United States! Well I'm sure you guys got a little more information than you needed, but I'm think you'll survive! Take care everyone and hopefully I'll see you during the holidays!
love,
Rebecca
P.S. I heard that Ian has taking up knitting...anyone care to comment?

Hi all,
Markus and I are back from Colorado. It was a beautiful trip and the weather was perfect the whole time (I had missed the daily loads of sunshine). My mom and Todd wanted me to tell everyone hello. My brother has started to teach again and is very glad that he isn't also taking classes this semester (he just has to do his teaching portfolio and will hopefully get his Masters in teaching in December). During our trip we visited family, friends, and all of the restaurants that we miss in Toledo and had plenty of good home cooking (my mom's lasagne was awesome...totally worth the day it takes to cook it). For our anniversary, we visited some ancient cliff dwellings (kind of odd to think about, but their 16 person homes are about the size of our two bedroom apartment) and drove up to the top of Pikes Peak. It was a crazy drive, I can barely believe that they have a major car race there every year and almost no one ever drives off the side of the mountain since it is all hairpin turns and most people go 25 mph the whole way up and 10 mph going down. There is also a nice 20 degree difference in temperature between the top and the bottom of the mountain. We stayed in a suite at the Marriott (where we had the reception)...it was the size of our apartment...who needs that much space unless you have 10 people staying with you.
When we returned we found that we now have a basement and garage wall for our house, so it is no longer just a hole in the ground.
We hope to hear what is new with everyone else.
Jill and Markus
