Catch up!
Hey all - I know it's been a while. We seemed to be sooooo busy in July & August. We all just got back from our family vacation. We went to Minnesota and saw a pre-season Vikings game, went to Valley Fair (an amusement/water park), went to the Mall of America, went to the zoo, saw a Twins vs Yankees game and went to a park that had a HUGE cherry on a spoon statue sorta thing all in 3 days!
Ryan is preparing for his 2 tests to get into the PHD program. Ryan & Sarah both start school Monday, 8/25. Sarah is going to go to class and work 2 part time jobs in Sept then switch to just 1 job in October (& school of course). Matt starts his teaching job tomorrow, 8/19. He is so excited. He sure loves his job. Bethany will start her pre-school teaching job in Sept in addition to her job as Christian Director. Nicole has passed all her classes and is officially graduated! She will be working at Walgreens full time!
I know Nicole is busy planning her wedding as well as Erin and Rebecca. 2009 is going to be busy with all the weddings & showers. So much fun!
Talia is having a boy - Scott & Neen will finally get a grandson! She is due around Jan 12th.
I don't believe that Ian has left yet for boot camp - Aunt Meg - do you have any news????
Go Cubs!! There may be a World Series in their future - they are playing awesome baseball.
Would love for others to update their new on their families!
A family (minus me!) pic below from the Twins game & in front of the Cherry!

Hi Deb,
I got the Chicago Tribune article you sent. RD has certainly had a great year. It seems he's a much better starter than reliever. Even a staunch Dempster backer as yourself must have had a few doubts last year. Jan and I are doing well. Jan started her new job in July and there's lots to learn. I've been traveling alot and it looks like that may continue for awhile. We had a busy summer but you guys had enough on your plate for 2 families. Take care and we'll see you soon. Dave and Jan.

Hi all,
Wow it sounds like everyone in the Decker family had a nice summer trip. Markus and I have stayed mostly in town and have been exploring the nearby attractions like the Michigan Renaissance Festival, art shows, and the local Summer Fest. There are a lot of fun free activities out here in the summer. I started back to teaching for the semester and am really enjoying teaching Microbiology (it is interesting to teach about all the different illnesses out there and how they work). I hope everyone else had a fun summer, tell us all about it!
Love, Jill
